Valrhona

$176.75

Valrhona's Andoa Noire 70% is made from organic, fair trade certified fine cocoa beans from Peru. This dark chocolate starts with a blast of freshness and strong bitter notes that intensifies and becomes more complex while tasting.

In 2009, Valrhona created Andoa Noire to enrich our Single Origin Grand Cru chocolates’ aromatic range with an intensely bitter dark couverture. Its name is a tribute to a now-extinct native Peruvian dialect which was spoken in the Loreto region of the Peruvian Amazon.

Andoa Noire’s nutty notes conjure up Peru’s warm, fragrant air, while its hints of woodiness and bitter edge seem to melt into the tranquil twilight atmosphere.

This certified chocolate allows chocolate lovers to buy fair trade and organic products, while still attaining the refined levels of quality and taste for which Valrhona is known. By producing a certified chocolate, Valrhona also aims to draw on the high standards of practice required to attain Fair Trade and Organic certification to improve the way they do business throughout their supply chain, all while maintaining their focus on flavour.

As of January 2020, Valrhona is officially B CORP certified company.

Summer Shipping:

At above 26°C, cocoa butter in chocolate products may start melting, and recrystallize as white streaks or marks on the chocolate's surface.  This phenomenon is called 'fat bloom'.  While it may not have the perfect appearance, bloomed chocolates are safe to eat and use in recipes.

During summer months when the temperature is relatively warm, we advise adding cold packaging to your shipment in order to minimize the risk of melting.  While we are careful and diligent in maintaining the temperature of your package, we unfortunately cannot guarantee the products in the cold packaging will not be affected by unusually warm weather and irregular transit time.
