Maldon has made sea salt in the coastal town of Maldon, England, since 1882, with four generations of the Osborne family carrying on the craft. Its signature pyramid-shaped flakes are deliberately different from fine everyday salt: light, crisp and easy to crush between the fingers, they give the cook direct control over both seasoning and texture. We carry Maldon because it is a simple ingredient made unusually well, equally useful at the stove and as a final seasoning where the character of the salt remains noticeable.
