Wusthof

Wusthof has been manufacturing cutting-edge blades since 1814.  Many people are surprised to discover that, after over 200 years, their company remains in family hands.

Equally unusual is the fact that Wusthof have stayed loyal to the City of Blades, and still produce our forged knives only in Solingen, Germany. They believe that quality knives can only be made where high-precision production meets traditional artisanship, and for that there is no place like home.

Production may be cheaper in other international locations, but when it comes to crafting their knives, continuity and long-term vision are important to Wusthof. They have spent over two centuries honing both their knives and their technique to perfection, and they employ some of the world’s most skilled knife artisans to ensure that their premium blades are truly extraordinary.

Wusthof knives are currently exported from Solingen to eighty countries around the globe, from Reykjavík to Cape Town to Tokyo to San Francisco. They are proud of their heritage, their tradition of artisanship, and the wealth of experience they can look back on.

Their goal is to offer food lovers, cooking enthusiasts, and chefs from all over the world exceptionally sharp, high-quality knives are at once beautiful, functional, and perfectly balanced. The next 200 years will see Wusthof continuing to marry such form and function in their centuries-old home, the City of Blades.
