This stem-only selection results in a complex, elegant flavour and a distinctively refined aroma that sets it apart from standard dark-roasted hojicha.
Expertly roasted at lower temperatures to preserve the stems’ delicate aroma, this powder displays a warm, green-tinged chestnut colour — an indicator of its freshness and quality. Notes of caramelized sugars, toasted sesame, and roasted chestnut shine through without the bitterness or char found in lower-grade hojicha.
