Hukambi’s surprising blend of cocoa, bitter and slightly biscuit-inflected notes ushers us in to discover the mysteries of the fauna and flora living in the shadows of Brazil’s ancient forests.
Valrhona is introducing Hukambi 53%, the first ombré couverture. Chocolate that flaunts the codes of classic gastronomy, interfusing the indulgence of milk with the powerful aromas of Brazilian cocoa.
BETWEEN DARKNESS AND THE LIGHT: A NEW OMBRÉ DIMENSION
- Indulgent: thanks to its combination of Brazilian cocoa, French milk and Madagascan vanilla, this chocolate’s powerful cocoa flavour blends beautifully with the sweetness of the milk.
- Unexpected: this bitter yet subtly sweet chocolate offers surprising notes of fruit and cookies, creating all-new flavour sensations.
- Exploratory: this chocolate is an invitation to discover a new aromatic territory
Brazil is one of the oldest cocoa producing countries. Valrhona has maintained a close partnership with Mr. Libânio since2009. Located in one of the world’s most diverse ecosystems, the Mata Atlantica (an official UNESCO “Biosphere Reserve”), the Libânio company is driven by a philosophy that advocates for harmony between people, soils and plants in a sustainable environment. As these values are fundamental to Valrhona, it felt natural to develop the new Hukambi 53% couverture.

Summer Shipping:
At above 26°C, cocoa butter in chocolate products may start melting, and recrystallize as white streaks or marks on the chocolate's surface. This phenomenon is called 'fat bloom'. While it may not have the perfect appearance, bloomed chocolates are safe to eat and use in recipes.
During summer months when the temperature is relatively warm, we advise adding cold packaging to your shipment in order to minimize the risk of melting. While we are careful and diligent in maintaining the temperature of your package, we unfortunately cannot guarantee the products in the cold packaging will not be affected by unusually warm weather and irregular transit time.
