Yuzu puree is a concentrated and delicious form of the yuzu citrus fruit.  It is a popular citrus fruit native to East Asia, particularly Japan, known for its distinct flavour and aroma.

The frozen puree is made by carefully processing and blending the fruit into a smooth and frozen consistency.  It captures the tangy, citrusy, and slightly floral notes of yuzu, providing a versatile ingredient for various culinary applications.

Yuzu puree can be used as a flavour base for beverages like cocktails, mocktails, and teas, adding a zesty and refreshing twist.  It is also utilized in desserts, such as sorbets, ice creams, and sauces, to infuse them with the unique flavour profile of yuzu.

With its concentrated form, the yuzu frozen puree allows you to enjoy the delightful essence of yuzu year-round.  It provides a convenient way to incorporate the distinct taste and aromatic qualities of yuzu into your culinary creations, offering a burst of citrus flavour and a touch of East Asian flair.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ON SHIPPING

While we make our best efforts to keep the puree cold when they reach you, we unfortunately cannot guarantee it being frozen, especially during the summer months or if you reside outside of Ontario.

If the puree arrives partially thawed, simply put it back in the freezer to keep its quality intact.  In the event that they arrive completely thawed, so long as the inner seal is not broken, they are safe to use.  Unused portions can be frozen again for longer term storage.

Purees with more fibres naturally separates when thawed.  Simply stir to use.  A good trick is to portion the purees in your own containers before refreezing them.

We hope you enjoy the freshness of Taka purees and the vibrant colours and excellent flavours they bring to your recipes.

About Yuzu 柚子 (果皮入)

Yuzu, originally discovered in China and Tibet, made its way to Japan and Korea in the 7th Century. Unlike other citrus fruits, it remained in Asia until the 20th Century, with the exception of limited export to Brazil. Yuzu's popularity in Europe is relatively recent, with its inclusion in dictionaries occurring after 2000. This fruit's mixed fruity and sour taste, reminiscent of grapefruit, mandarin, and lime, has delighted discerning palates. Yuzu's introduction to the West can be credited to renowned chefs and pastry-makers, particularly those with French culinary backgrounds. Today, yuzu is widely used in both savoury and sweet preparations and continues to gain popularity among culinary creators.
