EMILE HENRY Ceramic Bread Cloche (Round Boules)

Emile Henry

$223.95
$289.95

A cloche is all about steam, structure, and crust. This domed bread cloche helps trap moisture during the early bake, encouraging bold oven spring and a rustic, crackly finish on round loaves, right in a home oven.

Best for

Round boules, sourdough crust lovers, and bakers aiming for a traditional artisan-style finish.

Key features

  • Domed cloche design supports a humid bake for crust development and rise
  • Ceramic provides gentle, even heat that helps prevent scorching
  • Many bakers use the base for final proofing, then bake under the dome for a steamy start
  • Glazed surface cleans easily after baking
  • Lead- and cadmium-free glaze (per manufacturer)
  • Highly resistant glaze helps resist scratching and keeps its colour over time

Specifications

  • Recipe capacity: up to 4 cups of flour (makes about a 2 to 2.5 lb loaf)
  • Dimensions: 13.2" x 11.2" x 7.0" (33.5 x 28.5 x 16.5 cm)
  • Capacity: 4.5 L (4.75 qt)
  • Weight: 6.5 lb (2.95 kg)
  • Oven safe up to 500°F (260°C)
  • Freezer-to-oven capable
  • Microwave safe
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Made in France
  • 10-year warranty for manufacturing defects (domestic use)

Care

Ceramic benefits from gradual heating and cooling. Avoid sudden temperature changes, and never place a hot cloche on a cold or wet surface. Cool on wood, silicone, or a folded towel. Avoid direct flame and stovetop burners.

Let it cool fully before washing. Dishwasher safe, or wash with warm soapy water. Soak baked-on residue and use a non-abrasive sponge to protect the glaze.
