Description
Cosman & Webb Canadian Rye Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup starts with the family’s 100% pure Canada grade A Amber maple syrup, then spends 12 months resting in Canadian rye-whisky barrels. During that time, the syrup develops a noticeably deeper and more layered flavour than regular maple syrup.
The first impression is still unmistakably maple, with smooth caramel sweetness, followed by notes of brown butter, vanilla, toasted oak, malt, and warm spice. The barrel aging gives the syrup a longer, more complex finish while preserving the clean character of pure maple.
Because much of its character comes from the 12-month barrel aging, this syrup is especially enjoyable in applications where its flavour can remain prominent. Pour it over ice cream, use it in banana bread, serve it with pancakes, waffles, crêpes or French toast, or substitute it for simple syrup in cocktails to bring maple sweetness together with toasted oak, vanilla, malt, and warm spice.
Best for
Ice cream, banana bread, pancakes, waffles, crêpes, French toast, cocktails, and other applications where its barrel-aged maple flavour can remain noticeable.
