Description

Yuzu is an East Asian citrus that is popular in Japanese cuisine for its exceptionally fragrant peel and sharply refreshing juice. Its flavour is often described as combining elements of grapefruit, mandarin and lime, yet its distinctive floral-citrus aroma sets it apart from all three.

Why TAKA Yuzu Purée?

This Sakura Series purée is made in Japan with Japanese-grown yuzu and contains a substantial proportion of finely processed peel. Including the peel preserves more of the fruit’s aromatic oils while adding visible texture and a pleasant citrus bitterness. This makes it more expressive than a juice-only yuzu purée and particularly valuable when authentic aroma is as important as acidity.

Flavour and Applications

Bright, tart and intensely aromatic, the purée balances concentrated citrus acidity with floral notes, gentle bitterness and the textured character of yuzu peel.

Use it in curds, crémeux, ganaches, mousses, cheesecakes, jellies and plated desserts, or prepare sorbets, granitas and frozen parfaits. It also brings definition to cocktails, mocktails, teas, vinaigrettes, marinades and sauces for seafood or poultry. Yuzu pairs especially well with white chocolate, strawberry, pear, mango, ginger, matcha, sesame, shiso, honey, soy and miso.

Frozen Product Shipping & Handling Notice

We take special care when shipping frozen purées and limit available delivery methods to help them arrive in good condition. Depending on your location, only local delivery and express shipping options will be available at checkout. If your order qualifies for free shipping, our complimentary shipping service is standard shipping; express service may be available for an additional surcharge.

While we make every effort to keep the purée cold throughout transit, we cannot guarantee that it will remain completely frozen upon arrival, particularly during warmer weather.

If the purée arrives partially thawed but still cold, simply place it back in the freezer as soon as possible. If it arrives completely thawed, it is still safe to use provided the inner seal remains intact. Any unused portion may be refrozen for longer-term storage.

Purées with a higher fibre content may naturally separate after thawing. Simply stir well before use. For convenience, we also recommend portioning the purée into your own containers before refreezing so you can thaw only what you need.

We hope you enjoy the freshness, vibrant colours, and exceptional flavours these purées bring to your recipes.
