Description

Ibaraki Prefecture is one of Japan’s most prominent melon-growing regions, producing green-fleshed melons prized for their fragrance, juicy flesh and clean sweetness. TAKA’s purée showcases this regional Japanese fruit without assigning an unverified cultivar name.

Why TAKA Ibaraki Green Melon Purée?

This Sakura Series purée is made with carefully ripened, green-fleshed netted melons cultivated in Ibaraki. The frozen fruit is thawed at a low temperature, processed and rapidly heated and cooled to retain its fresh melon character. Its identified Japanese growing region and emphasis on fruit ripeness distinguish it from conventional melon purées made with unspecified fruit from multiple origins.

Flavour and Applications

The purée has an elegant melon aroma, smooth mouthfeel and refreshing sweetness. Its yellow-green fruit character is lighter and cleaner than that of orange-fleshed melon, making it particularly suitable for delicate pastry and beverage applications.

Use it in mousses, panna cotta, entremets, tart fillings, jellies and plated desserts, or prepare gelato, sorbet, granita and frozen parfaits. It also works well in smoothies, cocktails, mocktails, chilled soups and light sauces for seafood or cured meats. Green melon pairs particularly well with lime, yuzu, mint, shiso, cucumber, coconut, yogurt, white chocolate and prosciutto.

Frozen Product Shipping & Handling Notice

We take special care when shipping frozen purées and limit available delivery methods to help them arrive in good condition. Depending on your location, only local delivery and express shipping options will be available at checkout. If your order qualifies for free shipping, our complimentary shipping service is standard shipping; express service may be available for an additional surcharge.

While we make every effort to keep the purée cold throughout transit, we cannot guarantee that it will remain completely frozen upon arrival, particularly during warmer weather.

If the purée arrives partially thawed but still cold, simply place it back in the freezer as soon as possible. If it arrives completely thawed, it is still safe to use provided the inner seal remains intact. Any unused portion may be refrozen for longer-term storage.

Purées with a higher fibre content may naturally separate after thawing. Simply stir well before use. For convenience, we also recommend portioning the purée into your own containers before refreezing so you can thaw only what you need.

We hope you enjoy the freshness, vibrant colours, and exceptional flavours these purées bring to your recipes.
